This datavisualization was made for the Interno Verde contest, where they gave a huge dataset, with more than 4.000 entries, and asked to give value to the monumental trees of Italy.
There were no constricting ways to exhibit the data and no defined starting point: I choose to divide the information in a more neat way, using the circular shape to be a clear reminder of the rings of the trees while still mantaining the objective of putting all the information possible in the datavisualization. I then divided the trees into their family category, recorded the mediam height and size among all the same species and then started the subdivision between trees that where of public interested and the ones who weren't.

This visualization was chosen to be among the 10 finalist out of 80+ entries of the contest: the 70x100 poster was then printed and then showed inside Le Serre di Regina Margherita, in Bologna, in an open exposition, where the public was invited to explore and immerse themselves in this unknown but truly beautiful world.
